CAT Entrance Exam 2012 on 11 October 2012


This year's Common Admission Test (CAT) will be conducted from October 11, 2012 to November 6, 2012. CAT 2012 will be coordinated by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode on behalf of Indian Institutes of Management.



Candidates need to buy a CAT Voucher before starting the CAT Registration from the list of Axis Bank Branches.

Registration begins on 30 July 2012 and will be open till 19 September 2012. Candidates need to go to www.catiim.in and click on the “Register for CAT 2012” link. Registration process invloves the following steps:

  • ·         Creating a Profile
  • ·         Filling the Application Form
  • ·         Scheduling the Test

Opening Screen has 2 Options: "New Users" and "Existing Users". If you are visiting the website for the first time in 2012 then click on "New Users" and proceed. 


NOTE: This also includes candidates who have registered themselves in previous years (2009,2010 and 2011)

Steps to be followed:

  • ·         Enter Voucher Code
  • ·         Enter the "Captcha Characters"
  • ·         Click on : "Begin my Registration"
  • ·         You will reach to "Create a Profile"
  • ·         Enter you Name and E-mail Id
  • ·         Create a Login with a Username and Password which will be used for future LogIns
  • ·         Enter all the required information and click on "Save & Continue"
  • ·         Now you need to enter your Personal Information in the second section which includes Gender, Nationality, Date of Birth and Category
  • ·         Choose the Programs and IIMs of your choice and click on "Save & Continue"
  • ·         Fill in your Educational Background which will consist of

1.     SSC or equivalent
2.     HSC or equivalent
3.     Bachelor’s degree
4.     Master’s degree
5.     Professional course (CA, ICWA etc.)
  • ·         Click on "I Agree"  and "Save & Continue". Your Application will be e-mailed to you within 24 hours.
  • ·         Now Schedule your test time and location
  • ·         You will be taken to the "Confirmation Page", if there are any changes required click on "Edit Application" or "Edit Profile". If all the information is correct click on "I am done(Exit)".

IIFT Entrance Exam 2012 On 25 November 2012


Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) has announced the date of entrance exam for MBA (International Business) course for academic year 2013 admissions. IIFT considers  GMAT score for Foreign Nationals, NRIs and Children of NRIs; following the written test the Institute will invite selected candidates for Group Discussion, Essay Writing and Interview.

·         Recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in any discipline.

·         No age limit.

IIFT Entrance Test pattern
The admission test is a multiple choice objective type written test (in English). Duration of the test is two hours and will cover English Comprehension, General Knowledge & Awareness, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Analysis.

CMAT Entrance Exam 2013

AICTE has invited applications from eligible candidates for the National level Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) leading to admission in all management programmes approved by AICTE during the Academic Year 2013-14.

Eligibility criteria: 


Graduates in any discipline or Final year students of Graduate Courses can apply for CMAT online.


Registration:



Online from 3rd August 2012 to 2nd September 2012 on website www.aicte-cmat.in Choice of 3 cities for online examination in the order of preference.


Allotment will be based on first come first served. Actual allotment however will be subject to availability of the slots in a particular city.

Test Fee:




General / OBC : Rs.1200 + Bank charges

SC / ST / PD: Rs.600 + Bank charges


Mode of Payment:



Net Banking / Credit / Debit Card - Online through www.aicte-cmat.in Cash Payment - Through challan generated online and Cash deposited in any branch of State Bank of India


Admission Process:



The detailed merit list will be provided to the respective State Governments for allotting the students through central counseling or otherwise as per their notified admission procedure.

In case there is no central counseling Scores awarded will be used for admission in the AICTE approved Institutes / University Departments.

IIT- JEE Entrance Exam-2013


Union human resource development minister Kapil Sibal has suggested that there should be “one nation, one test” system for all the fields in a phased manner.


Kapil Sibal is setting up another panel which will be headed by the Prime Minister's scientific advisory council chairman Dr C N R Rao, with representatives of IITs and IIT Council as its members to re-examine the proposal in the wake of the IITs succeeding in an add-on test besides the single test for all engineering colleges.

Kapil Sibal has recommended that a single entrance should be held for the Indian Institute of Management (IIMs).  

Human Resource development minister Kapil Sibal recently has been in the news for his controversial decision to conduct a common entrance exam for the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs).

National Institute of Design Entrance Exam


Also called the Design Aptitude Test, this entrance exam can give weak knees to the best of creative design students. If you think you can answer questions like "Draw the world from an ant’s perspective", then may want to think of applying for this test held at major cities of India. 

Through this tough entrance exam, the NID Admission Committee aims to test the perception, attitude, aptitude, achievement and motivation of a candidate. In the second round, shortlisted students are grilled with personal interviews and studio tests.

The irony of the situation is that these exams just keep getting tougher and tougher every year. And the highest percentiles secured keep going up and up and up. Looks like the sky is the limit for these tough entrance exams, literally.
